E3 Earns Accreditation!

FOCUS Accreditation is pleased to announce that E3 Community Services Inc., has been successful in its bid for accreditation, becoming only the sixth agency in the province to have done so.  E3’s accreditation extends from November 2009 until November 2012.

Following an intense and extensive self-assessment by E3, a team of experts from FOCUS spent almost a week at E3 (October 2009) evaluating the agency in comparison to the 150 standards that form the benchmarks for accreditation.

While on-site, the FOCUS team performed an extensive review covering all aspects of the E3 organization including polices and procedures, governance and risk management to name a few.  Interviews were held with people using E3 services, their families, staff members and members of the community.  Time was also spent at service locations, giving the FOCUS team a true and holistic picture of the agency and its accomplishments.

“To be accredited by FOCUS is a challenge, as our standards are high and our process is thorough. E3 should be commended for their commitment to quality, and for the results they have achieved,” states Jennifer Keilty, Executive Director of FOCUS Accreditation.

“This is indeed a milestone and achievement where we can take pride in knowing that our overall philosophy, services and operational efforts are recognized as exemplary and meeting the needs of the people we support” is how Gordon Anton, Chief Executive Officer of E3, described it.

About E3:
E3 Community Services Inc. (E3) is a not for profit organization.  The organization’s head office is in Collingwood, with its service catchment area extending to Alliston, eastern Grey County, Stayner, Wasaga Beach and surrounding areas.  This multi-service organization offers a broad range of services and supports to children and adults with developmental challenges and learning disabilities. E3 also offers programs to the broader community wanting day care and early years opportunities. Throughout its fifty year history, E3 has provided assistance to thousands of people of all ages, with the aim to support them to live more fulfilled lives within their communities.

About FOCUS Accreditation
FOCUS is a non-profit accreditation agency that works with the developmental and human services sectors. Created in Ontario, Canada, by the very people who use and work in these services, FOCUS reflects the culture and expectations of community service organizations in Ontario. FOCUS has standards that look at both the quality of the services being provided to the people who use the services, as well as the effectiveness of how the organization operates.  FOCUS sends out experts from the community service sector to evaluate how an organization meets standards.   An organization that meets FOCUS’ standards can be viewed as an organization that focuses on the people it serves, and on high quality service delivery.
